Sometimes we’re rushing around, going at warp speed from wakeup to bedtime…without even taking a moment for mindfulness. A moment to breathe. A moment we need to feel like us.
So how can we be better about it? Here are a few things I do…
- Take 30-60 minutes to workout 5-6 days a week (before work and on weekends)
- Get some fresh air first thing in the morning
- Stretch throughout the day (because I sit for work)
- Eat lunch away from my desk (when possible)
- Take a walk after dinner
- Listen to some music while I do evening chores and dance it out (especially if I’m stressed)
- Read and/or journal before bed to take a break from screens
- On days I am not working, I try to get outside even more — including a walk at the beach or checking out a new neighborhood for coffee or tea (don’t have to spend tons of money to go out)
- Listen to a book on audio while taking a walk vs. scrolling
- Checking in on friends and loved one at least once a day, even to say hello or send a meme
- Hugging my furry ones because they’re pure unconditional love
- Being mindful of hydration and sleep
Not all of this happens every day or every week but it’s worth striving for. Above all I strive for movement, breaks, sleep, and time for me away from all the madness that life brings.
I dare you to do the same… #radiatedaily
